Tata Harrier EV: India’s electric vehicle journey is accelerating, and Tata Motors is leading the charge. In a move that’s set to shake up the premium EV segment, Tata has confirmed the launch of the all-electric Harrier SUV on June 3, 2025. After creating buzz with its debut at the 2025 Auto Expo, the Harrier EV is now all set to make its official entry onto Indian roads.

Futuristic Yet Familiar Design Language

Tata Harrier EV holds on to the bold styling of its diesel counterpart while embracing a modern, electric identity. Key design highlights include:

  • Sleek LED daytime running lights connected by a glowing light bar
  • Vertical main headlamps housed below the DRLs
  • Robust wheel arches and a smooth, floating roof design

Subtle changes mark its electric character—such as a closed-off grille, new chrome-accented lower bumper, and EV-specific badging. Its unique turbine-inspired alloy wheels (expected between 17 to 19 inches) not only enhance appearance but also improve aerodynamics.

Interior Blends Sophistication and Innovation

Inside, the cabin feels instantly premium. Tata has retained several features from the Harrier facelift, including:

  • Two-tone dashboard layout
  • Large floating touchscreen infotainment system
  • Touch-enabled HVAC controls
  • Modern four-spoke steering wheel

However, the Tata Harrier EV adds new-age elements too. Expect features like enhanced terrain modes, connected car technology, and OTA (over-the-air) software updates. A rotary drive selector, electronic parking brake, and a panoramic sunroof add to the overall luxurious experience.

Based on a Trusted Yet Evolved Platform

Unlike ground-up electric cars, the Tata Harrier EV builds on Tata’s proven Omega architecture—now extensively adapted into the Acti.EV (Gen 2) platform for electric compatibility. Tata’s engineering team has modified the structure to accommodate a large battery and new electronic systems, similar to their approach with the Punch EV.

Dual Motors, AWD Power, and Long-Range Confidence

Performance is one of the EV’s most talked-about aspects. The Harrier EV will boast:

  • A dual-motor setup for all-wheel drive (AWD)
  • Up to 500Nm of torque, as confirmed by Tata’s CCO
  • Strong rear motor for dynamic handling and performance

Although Tata hasn’t disclosed the exact battery specs, it’s expected to exceed the 55kWh benchmark set by the Curvv EV. With the new C75 driving cycle, real-world range is projected to cross 500 kilometers, making it ideal for daily and long-distance driving.
