Maruti Suzuki is all set to enter the midsize electric SUV market in India with the launch of the e-Vitara (Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara) during the upcoming festive season. The EV, first unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, has recently been spotted in camouflaged test runs, signaling its near arrival on Indian roads.
Built on a Dedicated EV Platform with Enhanced Safety
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is underpinned by the brand’s Heartect e-skateboard platform, which is specifically developed for electric vehicles. The structure uses over 50% high-tensile steel, enhancing both rigidity and occupant protection. This platform will also be shared with an upcoming Toyota-badged EV, scheduled to debut before the end of 2025. Both vehicles will be manufactured at Suzuki’s Gujarat facility, targeting domestic as well as global markets.
Two Battery Options with Up to 500+ km Range
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will be available in two battery configurations:
- A 48.8 kWh pack
- A larger 61.1 kWh unit
The top-spec variant is expected to offer a claimed driving range exceeding 500 km on a single charge. While international variants may feature all-wheel drive, the Indian version is likely to be offered in a front-wheel drive setup only.

Maruti Suzuki will offer the e-Vitara in Delta, Zeta, and Alpha trims. The base model will be limited to the 48.8 kWh battery pack, while mid and top variants will give customers the option to choose either battery size.
The SUV will be available in a wide array of single and dual-tone exterior finishes, including:
- Single-tone: Opulent Red, Arctic White, Bluish Black, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Nexa Blue
- Dual-tone: Land Breeze Green, Opulent Red, Arctic White, and Splendid Silver with a Bluish Black roof

The e-Vitara will support fast charging capabilities, recharging from 0% to 80% in just 50 minutes. Packed with modern amenities, the electric SUV will include:
