KTM is gearing up to surprise superbike enthusiasts with an all-new machine — the KTM 1390 Super Duke RR, an even more extreme and exclusive version of its popular Super Duke lineup. Built for hardcore riders and track-day fans, this limited-edition motorcycle promises unmatched performance, advanced technology and a sharper, more aggressive character.
Limited Production Model Inspired by the 1290 Super Duke RR
Recent European type-approval documents suggest that KTM is following the same approach used for the earlier 1290 Super Duke RR, which was restricted to just 500 units globally.
Similarly, the upcoming 1390 Super Duke RR will also be produced in very small numbers.
Instead of chasing higher horsepower, KTM is focusing on weight reduction and improved handling, ensuring a more precise and thrilling ride experience.

Powerful 1,350cc V-Twin Engine Continues with Proven Performance
The new model will retain KTM’s 1,350cc V-twin engine, delivering an impressive 190 hp and 145 Nm of torque — the same output as the standard 1390 Super Duke R.
KTM appears confident that the current power levels are already more than sufficient, shifting development efforts toward making the bike lighter, sharper and more track-ready.
Significant Weight Reduction: Nearly 8.5kg Lighter
The standard Super Duke R tips the scales at 212.5 kg, but reports indicate that the RR variant will weigh around 204 kg, making it almost 8.5 kg lighter.
This weight reduction is reportedly achieved through:
- Akrapovič titanium exhaust system
- Carbon-fibre body components
- Lightweight lithium-ion battery
- Possible titanium twin-outlet muffler
These upgrades will enhance acceleration, agility and overall track performance.

High-End Components for Superior Stability and Handling
Though official confirmation is pending, leaked information suggests the 1390 Super Duke RR will feature:
- WP Apex Pro suspension setup
- Brembo braking system borrowed from the R model
- Wider 17mm handlebar for improved control and mounting lever guards
- Standard LED lighting and adjustable rider controls
With these upgrades, the RR variant is expected to offer greater stability and responsiveness, especially during aggressive, high-speed riding.
Loaded with Advanced Electronics and Rider Aids
KTM is likely to offer the full electronic package from the standard 1390 Super Duke R, which includes:
- Five riding modes: Street, Sport, Rain, Performance and Track
- Traction control and anti-wheelie system
- 5-inch TFT display with lap timer
- Cruise control and telemetry support
- Smartphone connectivity & USB charging port
This ensures that the RR not only delivers thrilling performance but also modern convenience and safety features.

Launch Timeline and Expected Price in India
KTM initially planned to unveil the motorcycle at EICMA 2025, but internal delays shifted the schedule. Following Bajaj Auto’s acquisition of KTM, the development process is expected to stabilize, making a global launch in 2026 highly likely.
For the Indian market, the KTM 1390 Super Duke RR is expected to be priced between ₹25 lakh and ₹27 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as one of the most exclusive superbikes in the country.
