Kia has introduced the Kia Carens Clavis as a more upscale version of its popular MPV in the Indian market. While it continues with the familiar three-row seating layout, the Clavis gets a complete design refresh, upgraded interiors, and a premium feature set. Along with its debut, Kia has also streamlined the older Carens lineup, retaining only the Premium (O) trim.
Let’s explore the top five new features that make the Carens Clavis stand apart from the regular Carens MPV:
1. Twin 12.3-inch Digital Screens for Instrumentation and Infotainment
The Kia Carens Clavis gets a futuristic upgrade with two large 12.3-inch screens—one functioning as the digital instrument cluster and the other as the infotainment interface. This dual-display setup enhances the cabin’s tech feel, offering a smooth and immersive experience. In contrast, the current Carens Premium (O) variant still features a basic 8-inch infotainment screen and a semi-digital instrument panel.

2. Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof Makes Its Debut
For the first time, a panoramic sunroof has been added to the Carens family, and it’s available in the HTX turbo-petrol version of the Clavis. This wide glass roof enhances the cabin’s openness and appeal. Meanwhile, the existing Carens MPV no longer offers a sunroof in any variant—not even as an option—due to the discontinuation of several higher trims.

3. Advanced Driver Assistance (ADAS) – Level 2 Safety Suite
Kia has equipped the Clavis with Level 2 ADAS, introducing next-gen safety features that were missing in the previous Carens models. This safety tech includes:
- Forward Collision Warning
- Lane Keep Assist
- Blind Spot Detection
- Adaptive Cruise Control
However, these features are exclusive to the top-end HTX+ variant of the Clavis.

4. Kia Carens Clavis Upsized 17-inch Alloy Wheels
To enhance its road presence, the Kia Carens Clavis comes fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, replacing the 16-inch units seen on the previous Carens models. Even the now-discontinued variants of the regular Carens did not feature wheels this large, making this a notable design and performance upgrade.

5. Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold
A major convenience feature, the electronic parking brake, is offered in the Clavis automatic variants starting from the HTK+ trim. It also includes an auto hold function, improving comfort in stop-go traffic. Manual variants still use a traditional lever-style brake, which is also found in the Carens Premium (O) model, regardless of the transmission.

Launch Details
The official pricing for the Kia Carens Clavis will be revealed on May 23, 2025. With these enhanced features and a more refined design, the Clavis is set to appeal to buyers looking for a more luxurious alternative in the MPV space.
