Mahindra is preparing to introduce the all-new XUV 7XO, a major update to the existing XUV700, and the company has officially confirmed key launch and booking timelines. The SUV will be globally unveiled on January 5, 2026, while bookings will start from December 15, 2025, at 12 PM.
Bookings to Open With Multiple Engine & Transmission Choices
Customers will be able to reserve the XUV 7XO by paying a ₹21,000 booking amount. Mahindra will allow buyers to select their preferred engine option, transmission type, and dealership during the booking process. Reservations can be made both through physical showrooms and online platforms.
The new model will continue to offer petrol and diesel powertrains, paired with manual and automatic gearbox options, similar to the current XUV700 lineup.
Major Design Refresh Inspired by Mahindra’s New EV Styling
The XUV 7XO brings a substantial redesign, drawing cues from Mahindra’s futuristic XEV 9S. Teaser visuals reveal:
- A bold new LED DRL signature
- Projector LED headlamps
- An updated rear with inverted L-shaped light elements connected by a full-width LED bar
- Redesigned dual-tone alloy wheels
- Fresh exterior color options
- A new grille featuring vertical chrome slats
- Revised front and rear bumpers
- Distinct XUV 7XO branding on the bonnet and tailgate
Despite the visual overhaul, the overall dimensions of the SUV are expected to remain unchanged.
No Mechanical Changes Expected
Mahindra is likely to retain the proven engine lineup:
- 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine
- 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine
Both engines are expected to continue with the six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions offered currently.
First Mahindra ICE Model to Feature a Triple-Screen Dashboard
One of the biggest highlights of the XUV 7XO will be its new triple-screen cockpit, similar to the setup seen in the XEV 9S and XEV 9E. This marks a significant leap in cabin technology for Mahindra’s ICE portfolio.

The current XUV700 is priced between ₹13.66 lakh and ₹25.14 lakh (ex-showroom). With the XUV 7XO gaining new technology and cosmetic upgrades, Mahindra is expected to position it slightly higher than the outgoing model.

Following strong customer response to its new EVs—the XEV 9E and BE 6—Mahindra aims to strengthen its presence in the SUV segment with the upcoming XUV 7XO and the recently launched XEV 9S.
