Shock Price Hike! MG Increases Comet EV & Gloster Price – Here’s the New Price List

JSW MG Motor India has revised the prices of its popular models, including the Comet EV and Gloster SUV, effective immediately. Here’s a breakdown of the new pricing.

MG Comet EV Gets a Price Bump of Up to ₹35,700

MG’s most budget-friendly electric offering, the Comet EV, has received a price hike across its variants. After the revision, the Comet EV now starts at ₹7.35 lakh and goes up to ₹9.84 lakh (ex-showroom).

Among the variants, the Executive trim sees the steepest increase of ₹35,700. Meanwhile, the Excite and Excite FC trims get a moderate hike of ₹16,000 and ₹4,000 respectively. The Exclusive, Exclusive FC, and Blackstorm FC variants have all received a uniform increment of ₹5,300.

Interestingly, the Comet EV 100-Year Edition has not seen any change in its pricing.

Comet EV: Features and Performance Update

The MY2025 update brought in several new features for the Comet EV, including:

  • Reverse parking camera
  • Electrically foldable ORVMs
  • Leatherette upholstery
  • Four-speaker sound system

Mechanically, it continues with a 17.3 kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed range of 230 km on a single charge. Power is delivered through a rear-axle-mounted electric motor producing 41 bhp and 110 Nm of torque.

MG Gloster Price Increased by Up to ₹1.51 Lakh

The full-size MG Gloster SUV has also undergone a substantial price revision. The Sharp 2.0 Turbo 2WD 7-seater variant has become costlier by ₹1.51 lakh, while all other variants in the lineup are now dearer by ₹1.50 lakh.

With this change, the Gloster’s new price range stands between ₹41.07 lakh and ₹46.24 lakh (ex-showroom).

MG Majestor: A New SUV in the Pipeline

MG is preparing to expand its three-row SUV lineup with the introduction of the Majestor, which is essentially a facelifted version of the Gloster. This upcoming model was officially showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo and will be placed above the current Gloster in the company’s product portfolio.

While the Comet EV still remains India’s most affordable electric car, the Gloster’s new pricing positions it firmly in the premium full-size SUV segment.
