Hero Vida EV: Vida, the electric mobility brand backed by Hero MotoCorp, has entered the children’s off-road segment with the launch of the DIRT.E K3, an electric motorcycle designed for young riders aged 4 to 10 years. The company aims to offer a long-lasting product that grows with the child through multiple size-adjustable stages. Bookings have opened, with introductory pricing set at ₹69,990 for the first 300 units, and deliveries scheduled to begin January 15, 2026.

A Three-Stage Size System Designed to Grow With Riders

One of the standout elements of the DIRT.E K3 is its modular sizing platform. Vida has engineered a frame that can be configured in three different stages—Small, Medium and Large—allowing the bike to adapt to the child’s height and comfort level.

  • Length: 1181 mm → 1264 mm → 1342 mm
  • Seat height: 454 mm → 544 mm → 631 mm
  • Wheelbase: 751 mm → 834 mm → 912 mm

Despite the changing dimensions, the ergonomics remain consistent, ensuring young riders feel confident as they transition from one stage to another.

Electric Hub Motor With Smooth, Linear Power Delivery

Powering the K3 is a hub-mounted electric motor capable of delivering 10A continuous and 20A peak output. This translates to approximately 0.68 hp and a strong 39.1 Nm of torque, ideal for off-road practice without overwhelming beginners.

The motor has:

  • Air cooling system
  • Electronically managed throttle response
  • Parent-controlled performance limits through Vida’s mobile app

Vida says it tuned the motor to provide linear torque delivery, reducing jerky acceleration and helping kids develop riding skills safely.

Three Riding Modes for Different Skill Levels

To support gradual learning, the DIRT.E K3 offers three speed modes:

  • Beginner: ~7–8 km/h
  • Amateur: ~16–17 km/h
  • Pro: ~23–25 km/h

Parents can switch between modes and set restrictions through the companion app, making safety management easier.

Battery, Charging and Range Features

The motorcycle is equipped with a 48V NMC Li-ion 21700 battery pack with a 360 Wh capacity. Vida has designed the battery to be easily removable, allowing simple home charging.

Charging highlights:

  • 20% to 80% in about 2 hours using the included portable charger
  • Standard 230V input, 4A at 42V DC output
  • No fast charging option, to prioritize battery lifespan

Braking, Safety and Rider-Focused Features

The K3 comes with a 160 mm rear flat disc brake for consistent stopping power, while a front brake is available as an optional accessory. The bike runs on 16×2.4-inch tyres, each requiring at least 7 PSI of pressure.

Vida also includes several kid-focused safety elements:

  • Magnetic lanyard kill switch that cuts off power instantly if the rider falls
  • Kid-sized brake lever
  • Impact-absorbing body components
  • Over-moulded wiring harness for durability

Design, Colours and Availability

Styling-wise, the DIRT.E K3 resembles a scaled-down professional off-road motorcycle, complete with short overhangs, a raised seat and balanced proportions that remain consistent across size stages.

The bike will be offered in Red, Purple and White colour options.

Initial availability begins in Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Jaipur and Calicut, with broader expansion expected later.
