Tata Motors is gearing up to reintroduce one of its most iconic models — the Tata Nano, this time in an electric version. The upcoming Tata Nano EV is expected to combine budget-friendliness with modern technology, aiming to offer a smart solution for urban commuters.

Impressive Range with Fast Charging Support

The Tata Nano EV is likely to be equipped with a lithium-ion battery pack ranging between 17kWh to 26kWh. Once fully charged, it could deliver a driving range of approximately 300 to 315 kilometers, making it suitable for daily travel. The vehicle is also expected to support fast charging, enabling up to 80% charge in just 3 to 4 hours.

Compact Design with Modern Features

Designed specifically for city use, the Tata Nano EV will feature a compact and practical build. Despite its size, the car will come packed with modern amenities, including a touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, reverse camera, parking sensors, air conditioning, power windows, and Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

Safety and Performance Highlights

On the safety front, Tata is likely to include dual airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), and a seat belt reminder. The EV is expected to offer a top speed of up to 80 kmph, with the capability to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 10 seconds.

Budget-Friendly Pricing for Mass Adoption

One of the biggest advantages of the Tata Nano EV will be its affordable price tag. Industry estimates suggest a price range of around ₹3.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh, making it India’s most economical electric car. This pricing could make EV ownership possible even for individuals with a monthly income of ₹25,000 to ₹30,000.

Expected Launch Timeline

According to industry insiders, Tata Motors could launch the Nano EV by late 2025 or early 2026. With this launch, Tata aims to attract budget-conscious buyers looking for a reliable and eco-friendly urban vehicle.
