Tata Motors is set to launch the much-awaited Harrier EV in India on June 3, 2025. After making its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January this year, the production-ready version of the electric SUV has generated significant excitement. While the official technical details are still under wraps, the Harrier EV is expected to come with a larger battery than the upcoming Curvv EV, offering an estimated driving range of over 500 kilometers on a full charge.

Expected Price and Design Highlights

The Harrier EV is likely to be priced between ₹25 to ₹30 lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of design, it remains largely identical to its internal combustion engine (ICE) sibling. Key exterior highlights include vertical LED headlamps, blade-style daytime running lights (DRLs), a floating roof design, blacked-out D-pillar, and bold wheel arches. The rear bumper will feature vertically-stacked LED fog lamp housings, adding a modern EV touch.

EV-Specific Styling and Dimensions

The electric version will showcase distinctive EV styling elements such as ‘.EV’ badges on the front doors and a ‘HARRIER.EV’ logo on the tailgate. Silver-colored body cladding and alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 19 inches will be available, depending on the variant. Dimensionally, the Harrier EV will remain similar to the ICE version, including its ground clearance and wheelbase.

Built on Omega Architecture with EV Enhancements

Though not a ground-up EV, the Harrier Electric will utilize Tata’s Omega platform—the same one used for the ICE variant. The platform has been extensively modified to support electric powertrains. The floor has been redesigned to accommodate the battery pack, and changes have been made to the chassis to ensure better integration of electronic systems. Tata Motors has followed a similar strategy previously with the Punch EV.

The feature list will include a digital instrument cluster, four-spoke steering wheel, terrain response modes, a panoramic sunroof, wireless OTA updates, connected car technology, and a floating infotainment touchscreen. The top variants will also support V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality.

Powerful AWD Setup and Performance Hints

Though Tata has yet to officially reveal the complete technical specifications, the Harrier EV is confirmed to feature an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. This is enabled by an electric motor mounted on the rear axle. Speaking on its capabilities, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility’s Chief Commercial Officer Vivek Srivatsa stated, “With electric motors, you can do a lot more, especially for performance.” The expected torque output is around 500 Nm, indicating a strong performance focus.
